This one comes from the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperatives Union (YCFCU). The co-op is located in southern Ethiopia, and was founded in 2002 out of the need for fair and ethical trade among Ethiopian coffee farmers. It has grown from representing 13 to 23 member cooperatives which include more than 45,000 farms and 350,000 family members. In this region over 62,000 hectares are dedicated to coffee, grown organically. Forest canopy, organic fertilizers, and a temperate climate produce a very high quality bean which is clearly reflected in the taste.
