Honduras - La Avi
This exclusive certified organic coffee was sourced from multiple small farms across the western region of Honduras by a local green coffee exporter called BonCafe.
Using their extensive network in Honduras, BonCafe will purchase the entire harvests of organic-certified smallholder farmers, who are generally situated 1400 - 1800 masl and growing the prevalent specialty varieties of the area: Catuai, Bourbon, Lempira, Pacas, and IHCAFE 90. Each farmer's harvests are graded and cupped for quality, then classified into three tiers, with the farmers receiving premiums for each tier on top of the base price paid for the coffee. In addition to paying premium prices to farmers, BonCafe is dedicated to sustainability, education, supporting women in coffee, and supporting their local community.
The coffees in La Avi are combined to create a high-quality approachable coffee suitable for a variety of uses; with its approachable tasting notes this coffee does well on a variety of brew methods.
